Vintage style Canadian Port. Fortified with our own Blackwood Lane Brandy and aged in barrel 2 years. Youthful, succulent and ready to drink now; however, will develop deeper character with bottle age. Rich aromas of dried cherries, raisins, mincemeat and vanilla. Big flavours of stewed plums and cranberries followed by a fresh burst of tangy black cherries and a soft fruity finish. Perfect as an after dinner drink, with dessert or blue cheese, or paired with dark chocolate and dried cherries.
Pisa is a nut liqueur with a distinctive leaning bottle is made from almonds, pistachios and hazelnuts and makes for a serious alternative to liqueurs such as amaretto; which works fantastically well in cocktails, over ice or in coffee. A very rich, Italian almond liqueur that tastes like liquid, alcoholic marzipan. The design of the bottle compliments its name sake with an appearance like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Appearance: Still, deep amber, slight sediment in bottle.
Aromas, flavours: Dried fruit, burnt sugar, vanilla, oak, honey.
Mouthfeel: Sharp to the tongue, some viscosity.
Suggested Food Pairings:
Bold flavours either very savoury or very sweet. In Normandy served as an aperitif or palate cleanser between courses, but works well as a dessert cider in place of a sherry. Try with chocolate, hazelnuts, drunken apricots ; also strong cheeses such as Roquefort.
